SELAMAT DATANG DI INDONESIA

The first steps in Indonesia were to Jogjakarta and the first stop was: PRAMBANAN (Hindu Temples).
Prambanan was built around 850 AD. There were 237 temples in the complex, either big or small. But the majority of them collapsed, what is left are mostly scattered stones. The three main temples are dedicated to Shiva, Brahma and Vishnu.

( The first half of the ballet ended with real fire)

The Ramayana is a story of epical dimensions and living legend for millennia. Amongst the ancient literature, the tale of the heroic Prince Rama and his loyal wife Sita might be the most influential story. From the land of its birth in India, most of Indian people tend to refer to the story under the term Ramayana.

2nd PART OF INDONESIA TRIP

The second day of our trip we visited the BOROBUDUR TEMPLE. It is located 40 km west of Jogja and it is surrounded by volcanoes. It is a Buddhist temple built in the 9th century. The temple is 34.5 m high and covers 200 square meters. The temple was built with 1.6 million of blocks made of volcanic rock and they were joint together without mortar.
The temple has 5 levels, which indicate the path to Nirvana. The first level is the terrenal level (needs and desires) and you arrive to enlightenment in the fifth level, above which the Nirvana is represented with a huge empty stupa (10 m of diameter).
We start the path...here on the second level.
During our path to enlightment we found a group of Indonesian teeneagers willing to practice their English, so we spent some time talking with them.
Marc signing autographs!
ohhh another group of chit-chatters! but this time not teenagers.....
they were a little older.. but with the same "homework" of speaking English with tourists.
almost there...Marc still on the fourth level!!!! I'm on the fifth ;)
Nuestros inicios... (first level of course!)
